Orange County, CA -- Choral Arts Initiative is thrilled to announce that it will conclude its 2016 season with a stunning and groundbreaking commission by Dale Trumbore. This two-year collaboration between Trumbore and Choral Arts Initiative's Artistic Director Brandon Elliott will be premiered this July 16 & 17, 2016, followed by a series of recording sessions to document this stunning commission. This professionally recorded album will be available for commercial release in early 2017.
Joining forces with Trumbore are three living female poets--Barbara Crooker, Laura Davies Foley, and Amy Fleury--who have contributed to the work. A 35-minute, eight-movement secular work for virtuosic a cappella chorus, How to Go On weaves solo voices from within the choir and extended wordless passages into haunting, vivid new textures, turning Choral Arts Initiative into a versatile orchestra of vocal sound.
Meet the Sopranos this weekend at our performances! To quote our Artistic Director, Brandon Elliott: "Every Choral Artist is a truly remarkable musician and person."
