Meet passion. Meet our 2014|15 Choral Artists.
It was a long day for our returning and prospective Choral Artists, as well as the Artistic Staff. Prospective Choral Artists were asked to sing two arias, sight sing (complex melody), sight read (complex rhythm), and perform tonal memory and aural skills exercises. After this portion of the audition process, select singers were then invited to a callback. The callback took place in an ensemble setting where the prospective Choral Artists joined the returning Choral Artists. Ensemble adaptation, choral skills, and musicianship were assessed through performing choral excerpts that were distributed only two hours prior.
Ask any of the musicians who auditioned: the process was not easy. This is because we at Choral Arts Initiative believe that Orange County and the surrounding community deserves the best choral music offerings. We strive for excellence. It begins with welcoming not just singers--nor just musicians--but passionate musicians. . .Choral Artists.
We are honored, proud, and excited to announce our 2014|15 Choral Artists. Learn more about each of them here.
